On our drive back up the Overseas Highway in mid-February, 2013, we stopped at Anne's Beach to stretch our legs. The beach is located on Lower Matecumbe Key at mile marker 73. While the beach is on the south or ocean side of the key, the water is shallow enough that there is very little wave action. Two parking areas about a quarter-mile apart are connected via a boardwalk. Along the boardwalk are several covered picnic tables as well as stairs down to paths to the beach. Restrooms with running water are located at the northeastern parking area.
